VoltAmpix is a remote electrical expert desk. You show us an electrical problem; our AI gives a first look; our expert reviews it and gives you a written answer; your local electrician does the physical work. These terms explain how that works and where its limits are.
1. Definitions
1.1 Service — everything VoltAmpix provides through voltampix.com, app.voltampix.com and by email, including Scans, Cases, Expert Answers and the equipment register.
1.2 Customer or you — the business, or the natural person acting in the course of a profession or business, that creates an Account, opens a Case or takes out a Site Retainer.
1.3 Scan — an automated AI analysis provided free of charge, such as Nameplate Scan, Failure Scan and Ask AI.
1.4 Case — a request for expert advice submitted by the Customer, including the photographs, data and descriptions provided with it.
1.5 Expert Answer — the written answer or report prepared for a paid Case and reviewed by the VoltAmpix expert before delivery.
1.6 Local Professional — a person who is qualified and, where required, authorised under the laws, regulations and standards that apply at the Customer’s site to carry out or assess the electrical work concerned.
1.7 Site Retainer — a monthly subscription that includes a number of Cases and faster answers.
2. Who the Service is for
2.1 The Service is offered only to businesses and to natural persons acting in the course of a profession or business. It is not intended for consumers. By creating an Account or opening a Case, you confirm that you act in a business capacity. Consumer-law provisions, including the right of withdrawal for distance contracts, do not apply.
2.2 The Service is intended for Customers established in the European Union or the European Economic Area. We may accept Cases from other countries at our discretion. The Service is not offered in the United States of America.
2.3 These terms apply to all use of the Service. The agreement is formed when you tick the box “I agree to the Terms of Service and the Privacy Policy” and complete registration, or when you pay for a Case, whichever comes first.
2.4 Any terms of the Customer, including purchasing conditions, are expressly rejected.
3. What VoltAmpix does — and does not do
3.1 VoltAmpix provides remote advice about electrical equipment, based on the information you provide. This includes: likely causes of faults, equipment identification, brand-neutral product and replacement advice, written briefs and parts lists for your Local Professional, second opinions on quotes and upgrade plans, and interpretation of test reports, alarm logs and relay events.
3.2 VoltAmpix does not:
a. carry out any work on site, or switch, operate or access any installation or equipment;
b. prepare installation designs, or sign or stamp drawings, calculations or documents for approval;
c. carry out inspections, tests or measurements, or issue certificates, safety declarations or any inspection required by law, a regulator or an insurer;
d. provide an emergency service;
e. give step-by-step instructions for work on live equipment;
f. act as a certified or registered engineer, inspection body or certification body.
3.3 All physical work, all measurements on live equipment, and every decision to energise or re-energise an installation are for the Customer and its Local Professional. Our advice supports those decisions; it does not replace them.
3.4 Medium and high voltage. Our advice on medium or high voltage equipment is limited to remote interpretation, planning and replacement options. Any operation of, access to or work on such equipment must be carried out only by authorised personnel in accordance with EN 50110 and the rules that apply at the site.
3.5 Emergencies. If there is smoke, a burning smell, sparks, arcing or hot surfaces, do not wait for a Scan or an answer. Isolate the supply only if it is safe to do so, and call a Local Professional or the emergency services.
4. Your responsibilities
4.1 You provide information that is accurate and complete to the best of your knowledge, and you tell us about anything that may affect our advice.
4.2 Take photographs and readings safely. Never open enclosures, remove covers or approach live parts to take a photograph. If information from inside equipment is needed, have a Local Professional collect it.
4.3 You make sure that our advice is applied by a Local Professional and in line with the laws, standards and insurer requirements that apply at your site.
4.4 You remain responsible for your own legal duties as an employer, owner or operator of the installation, including inspections required by law or by your insurer.
4.5 Safety confirmation. Before each Failure Scan and each Case, the Service shows a short safety notice and asks you to confirm that you understand the remote nature of our advice as described in articles 3.3, 3.5, 4.2 and 15.4. We do not process the Scan or the Case without that confirmation. We keep a record of each confirmation (notice version, date and time, and the Scan or Case it relates to) with your Account.
5. Free Scans
5.1 Scans are generated automatically by artificial intelligence and are not reviewed by a person. They are a preliminary first look: they can be incorrect, incomplete or not suited to your situation, even when phrased with confidence.
5.2 Do not act on a Scan in any matter affecting safety or the condition of an installation without the involvement of a Local Professional or a paid Expert Answer.
5.3 We may apply reasonable usage limits to Scans and may change or stop free features at any time.
6. Cases, scope check and answers
6.1 Scope check. Every Case starts with a free scope check. We tell you whether the Case can be answered remotely, which service it needs, the price and the answer deadline. We may decline a Case at our discretion; a declined Case costs nothing.
6.2 Formation. The contract for a Case is formed when you pay the quoted price.
6.3 Answer time. We aim to deliver the Expert Answer within two (2) business days after payment. For a Site risk roadmap and a Spec review & swap the answer time is five (5) business days, seven (7) when our desk is busy. For other services, when our desk is busy, the answer time is four (4) business days; when our expert is away, it is two (2) business days after the return date shown. The answer time that applies is shown in the quote and in the Service before you pay. The time does not run while we are waiting for information from you. If we have not delivered the Expert Answer within ten (10) business days after payment (or after the return date, if our expert was away when you paid), not counting time spent waiting for you, you may cancel the Case and receive a full refund.
6.4 If, after payment, we conclude that the Case cannot be answered responsibly on a remote basis, we tell you why and refund the price in full.
6.5 Follow-up. One follow-up question about the same Case within fourteen (14) days of delivery is included. Further questions or new issues may be quoted as a new Case.
6.6 Business days are Monday to Friday, excluding public holidays in Latvia.
6.7 Founding 20. The first expert Case of each of the first twenty (20) companies is free of charge: one free Case per company, for businesses established in the EU/EEA, while places last. In return we ask for a rating and one sentence of feedback after the answer. We publish that feedback only with your separate consent.
6.8 Answer speed options. When production at your site has stopped, you can add one answer speed option to a Case before you pay. Its price is added to the quoted price at checkout (prices excl. VAT).
a. Priority (€99): we deliver the Expert Answer on the same business day if you pay by 11:00 CET, or otherwise by 11:00 CET on the next business day. If we do not deliver it by that time, we refund the €99.
b. Urgent (€270): our expert makes first contact with you by phone or video call within two (2) hours of payment, counted only within coverage hours (Monday to Friday, 06:00–20:00 CET, excluding public holidays in Latvia). If you pay outside coverage hours, the two hours start when coverage hours next begin. Urgent includes up to sixty (60) minutes of remote support, and the Expert Answer then follows on the Priority time. If first contact is late, we refund €171, so you pay the Priority price. If the Expert Answer is late, we refund €99.
c. First contact means the first call on the Case; it does not mean that the fault is resolved within that time. Contact and answer times depend on you providing the photographs, information and a phone number where you can be reached, and they do not run while we are waiting for information from you.
d. Both options are remote advice only, as described in article 3. They are available for a limited number of Cases each week and not while our desk is busy or our expert is away. We may decline a request before payment, at no cost to you. If we miss an option time, the rest of the Case continues as normal and article 6.3 still applies. Refunds are made to the original payment method, normally within fourteen (14) days.
6.9 Prepaid answers. You can buy a pack of prepaid Expert Answers by invoice (for example 5 for €199 excl. VAT). Each prepaid answer pays for one Expert Answer quoted at up to €49; it cannot be used for answer speed options (article 6.8) or other services. Prepaid answers are valid for 12 months from the day we add them to your account, then expire without refund. They belong to your account and cannot be transferred.
6.10 Spec review & swap. You send a specification, bill of materials, tender list or supplier quote and tell us which brands are allowed. For each line we give a written view, based on the manufacturers' published product data: a direct equivalent, an equivalent with differences that must be checked, or no safe swap. This is product and solution advice under article 3. It is not a design, a selectivity or coordination study, an assembly verification under EN/IEC 61439 or an approval of any installation. A swap can affect selectivity, cascading, assembly verification, certification or warranty: the designer responsible for the installation, the panel builder or the installer decides on and approves every change before it is ordered or installed. Prices and lead times we mention are indicative, not offers.
7. Prices and payment
7.1 Prices shown on voltampix.com are fixed prices or, where marked “from”, starting prices. The price in the quote for your Case is binding.
7.2 Prices exclude VAT. For Customers with a valid VAT number in another EU member state, the reverse-charge mechanism applies. We may ask for your VAT number before accepting payment.
7.3 Payment is made in advance through our payment provider. We do not receive or store full card details. Invoices are sent by email.
7.4 Refunds are given only as described in these terms.
8. Site plan (Site Retainer)
8.1 A Site Retainer is paid monthly in advance and renews automatically each month.
8.2 You may cancel at any time with effect from the end of the current month, through your Account or by email.
8.3 Included Cases that are not used in a month do not carry over to the next month.
8.4 We may change the price of a Site Retainer on thirty (30) days’ notice. If you do not agree, you may cancel with effect from the date the change takes effect.
8.5 The Site plan includes two Expert Answers and one Priority option per calendar month (article 6.8 availability applies), a quarterly equipment risk report and one equipment register for all your sites. It is agreed in writing (email is enough) and invoiced monthly in advance. Where the written agreement differs from this article, the agreement applies.
9. Expert Answers
9.1 An Expert Answer is professional advice given remotely and based only on the information you provided. It is not a guarantee of any outcome, of the condition of your installation or of compliance with any law or standard.
9.2 Where we recommend products, we do so on a brand-neutral basis and may give several options. We do not guarantee the price, availability or lead time of third-party products.
9.3 You may share an Expert Answer with your Local Professional, supplier, insurer, landlord or advisers. You may not publish or resell it.
10. Artificial intelligence
10.1 We use artificial intelligence from third-party providers to analyse photographs and data and to prepare drafts. Every paid Expert Answer is reviewed by the VoltAmpix expert before it is delivered.
10.2 The Service makes no automated decisions producing legal effects or similarly significant effects within the meaning of article 22 GDPR.
10.3 We do not allow our AI providers to use your Case information to train their models.
11. Your data and confidentiality
11.1 Information you provide remains yours. You give us the right to use it as needed to provide, secure and improve the Service.
11.2 We keep Case information confidential. We share it only with the service providers we use to run the Service, with a Local Professional or other person at your request, or where the law requires it.
11.3 We may use anonymised technical information from Cases, which does not identify you, your sites or your installations, to improve the Service and to publish general guidance.
11.4 You confirm that you are entitled to share the information and photographs you upload. Personal data is handled as described in our Privacy Policy.
11.5 Share links. You can share a Case or your equipment risk list with your electrician or another person through a read-only link that expires. Anyone who has the link can see what you shared until it expires or you switch it off, so send it only to people you trust. What that person sends back through the link (notes, measurements, photos, documents) is added to your Case and seen by you and the expert; ask them to send only information they are entitled to share.
12. Account and acceptable use
12.1 You keep your login details confidential and are responsible for all use of your Account. Tell us without delay if you suspect unauthorised access.
12.2 You may not use the Service in breach of the law, upload information you are not entitled to share, scrape or reverse-engineer the Service, use it to build a competing service, or present a Scan or an Expert Answer as an inspection, certificate or approval.
12.3 We may suspend an Account after a serious or repeated breach. Where reasonably possible we give a warning first.
13. Intellectual property
13.1 All rights in the Service, its software, content, templates and methods belong to VoltAmpix or its licensors.
13.2 You receive a non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Service and the Expert Answers delivered to you for your own business.
13.3 We may use your feedback to improve the Service without restriction or payment.
14. Warranties
14.1 We provide the Expert Answer with reasonable care and skill. Apart from that, the Service is provided “as is” and “as available”.
14.2 We do not warrant that Scans are accurate or complete, that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that following our advice will lead to a particular result, pass an inspection or satisfy an insurer.
14.3 Equipment Risk Check. Lifecycle statuses shown in the Service (current, phase-out ahead, spares only, discontinued) are information published by manufacturers. They can change, can be incomplete, and are matched to your equipment by brand and model code. Check them with the manufacturer or your supplier before you order. The ranking is a planning aid based on that information and on your own answers; it is not an inspection or an assessment of the condition of your equipment.
14.4 All other warranties are excluded to the extent permitted by law.
15. Liability
15.1 Our total liability arising from or in connection with a Case is limited to the price paid for that Case. For a Site Retainer, our total liability is limited to the fees paid in the twelve (12) months before the event giving rise to the claim. Amounts exclude VAT.
15.2 We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including business interruption, loss of production, lost profit or revenue, lost savings, damage to equipment or data, the cost of repairs, replacements or re-inspection, fines or sanctions, or claims by third parties.
15.3 For free Scans and other free use of the Service, our liability is excluded to the extent permitted by law.
15.4 You acknowledge that our advice is given remotely on the basis of the information you provide, and that the assessment of risks on site and the execution of any work rest with you and your Local Professional. This allocation of risk is reflected in our prices.
15.5 Nothing in these terms limits or excludes liability for intent or gross negligence, or any liability that cannot be limited or excluded under applicable law.
15.6 Any claim must be notified to us in writing within twelve (12) months of discovering the damage.
16. Indemnity
16.1 You indemnify VoltAmpix against claims by third parties, including your employees, clients, contractors, insurers and regulators, that arise from your use of the Service, from decisions you take on the basis of a Scan or Expert Answer, from work carried out at your site, or from information you were not entitled to share.
17. Availability and force majeure
17.1 We aim to keep the Service available but do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. The Service relies on third-party providers whose availability is outside our control.
17.2 We are not responsible for delays or failures caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including outages of third-party services, internet or power failures, cyber-attacks and government measures.
18. Term and termination
18.1 You may close your Account at any time. Paid Cases already started will be completed unless you ask otherwise.
18.2 We may close an Account on thirty (30) days’ notice, or immediately after a serious breach of these terms.
18.3 After closure, you can ask for an export of your Case information for thirty (30) days. After that it is deleted as described in the Privacy Policy, except where the law requires us to keep it.
19. Changes to these terms
19.1 We may change these terms. We announce material changes by email or in the Service at least thirty (30) days in advance. Cases paid before a change remain under the terms that applied when you paid.
19.2 If you do not accept a material change, you may close your Account before it takes effect. Continued use after that date means you accept the change.
20. Governing law and disputes
20.1 These terms and every agreement between VoltAmpix and the Customer are governed by the laws of the Republic of Latvia. The UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods (CISG) does not apply.
20.2 The parties will first try to resolve any dispute by discussion. Disputes that cannot be resolved this way are submitted exclusively to the competent court in Riga, Latvia (Rīgas pilsētas tiesa), without prejudice to our right to bring proceedings in the courts of the Customer’s place of establishment.
21. Miscellaneous
21.1 These terms are drawn up in English. Any translation is provided for convenience only; the English text prevails.
21.2 We may transfer this agreement to a company we control or to a legal entity established to continue the Service, or in connection with a merger, acquisition or transfer of the business, after giving you written notice.
21.3 These terms, the Privacy Policy and any Data Processing Agreement together form the entire agreement between the parties.
21.4 If any provision is invalid, the rest remains in force, and the invalid provision is replaced by a valid one that comes as close as possible to its purpose.
21.5 We may send notices to the email address linked to your Account. You can send notices to info@voltampix.com.
